Jeremy J. Buckmaster
Bio
Mr. Buckmaster is an accomplished trial attorney. He prides himself on his tireless work ethic, and a passionate desire to serve people in the community that need the most help. He is known for his ability to negotiate favorable results in both criminal and family cases. His experience in both life and in 20 years of practicing law allows him to have a unique skill set to help clients dealing with all criminal and family law issues.
Mr. Buckmaster was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He moved to Florida in 1988. He attended the University of Florida, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. Mr. Buckmaster continued his education, obtaining his law degree from the University of Florida’s Levin College of Law in 2001.
After graduating law school, he began his legal career as an Assistant State Attorney in the 19th Judicial Circuit in Fort Pierce, Florida. During his tenure, he prosecuted thousands of criminal cases in misdemeanor and felony court. After his time as a prosecutor in Fort Pierce, Mr. Buckmaster joined a private criminal defense firm, where he represented clients facing State and Federal criminal charges.
Mr. Buckmaster later relocated to the Daytona Beach area in order to start his family. After relocating, he returned to the State Attorney’s Office in the felony division of the 7th Judicial Circuit. Subsequently, he opened his own firm in 2006, where he continues to successfully represent clients facing federal and state prosecutions. As the founder and managing partner of the firm, he sets the example of how the law firm can change lives and that serving the clients is always the main focus.
Mr. Buckmaster has vast experience in criminal defense, defending those accused of DUI, drug offenses, domestic battery, and all misdemeanor and felony charges. Additionally, Mr. Buckmaster is an experienced family law mediator and litigator.
He is admitted to the Florida Bar, and licensed to practice in state court. Furthermore, he is licensed to practice in front of the United States District Court for the Middle District and Southern Districts of Florida, the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit and has previously litigated in Washington D.C. area as pro hac vice counsel. He is a member of the Volusia County Bar, the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and the Ormond Beach Rotary.
Mr. Buckmaster is a single father and extremely proud of his three children. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his children and his extended family. He loves boating, traveling, and attending concerts and sporting events.
